Where did the Superman and Batman rivalry come from?

Its arguable the biggest rivalry in the history of comic books, but why is it there? Which is better, the brains to figure out how to deal with a situation since you have no powers, or the brawn to bash your way out of any given situation?



That's how I always see the argument. There isnt really a rivalry because they are best friends

they may have small competitions but they are loooooooong time friends and there would not be any rivalries
