Descartes states that indubitable existence is a trait that the mind has and the body lacks and therefore, the mind and body are separate entities (Dualism).
In my philosophy book, the author brings forth an example as to why Dualism is not real. He states that indubitable existence is not a "genuine property" and he brings this up in order to kind of ridicule Leibniz's Law and thus deny Descartes' argument for Dualism:
Lois Lane wants to marry Superman.
Lois Lane does not want to marry Clark Kent.
Therefore, Superman is not identical with Clark Kent.
Philosophical answers only please!
Oh, and explain yourself. Are Clark Kent and Superman the same person?Lois Lane does not perceive that Superman is Clark Kent. Superman (and God), however, perceive that he is Clark Kent.
This is a problem in point of view. Bishop Berkeley addresses this. Are Clark Kent and Superman the same person?Superman is who he is and that is who ever the bleeped -cause yahoo answers is communist pussys- he wants to be.Are Clark Kent and Superman the same person?Clark Kent and Superman are the same person, that's why you never see both of them together at the same time! Are Clark Kent and Superman the same person?
...yes, according to the origin of Kael, aka: Clark Kent/Superman.
