It's well established now both that global warming is a very real international crisis akin to the threat of nuclear holocaust in its end result, and the threat is increasing with every day, and every plane taken by every traveller, and every car taken down the road. .. and every golf course that uses water that spreads fertilizer and pesticide around the near countryside, when the land could be returned to native trees for more oxygen for us all, and for birds to in turn help promote growth of more trees elsewhere.
People travel across the world just to see 'beautiful nature' and go hiking amongst the trees in New Zealand - more than the number of people who go there to play golf - so for local tourist opportunities in other countries too, it makes sense to plant more trees, and reduce, reuse and recycle old golf courses.
Save the world! Reclaim your local golf course for nature, the birds, the trees, and oxygen for you and your grandchildren to breath, now! When will golf courses be made illegal throughout the world? Not going to happen. When will golf courses be made illegal throughout the world?
Just think of all the aimal injuries caused by flying golf balls !
How about you try and do something productive like save the rain forests that everyone cares about. When will golf courses be made illegal throughout the world?I can't tell if you're serious.
I imagine that you have already ceased to drive or use a car for transportation. Now how about ceasing to use anything that has been made from or using petroleum products? The pharmaceutical industry likely causes more environmental degradation than golf courses, so refain from using those products. Global warming is akin to the millenial and apocalyptic movements throughout history that have insisted that unless we convert to a particular ideology of religious wordlview, a great cataclysm will overtake humanity. When will golf courses be made illegal throughout the world?I've asked myself the same question. You need to take the money out of golf. As long as this hobby remains profitable people will keep doing it. I refuse to call it a sport. When someone else carries your gear for you, when you can ride in a cart from one site to the next, when you can drink beer while participating, this is not a sport! You're not chasing the ball, you're not trying to beat the next player to the tee. It's a game, but not a sport. Darts and billiards are games, not quite sports, they still require skill to do well, but they are not quite sports, the same is of golf. When will golf courses be made illegal throughout the world?
Sounds like you buy into Al Gore's wacky global warning theory. It's not true. He flies around in one of the most fuel-inefficient jets in the world and wants us to walk or ride bikes. The Antarctic ice is actually growing, not striking as Gore claims. Even some major scientific experts on global warning are saying Recount Al is wrong. I may not golf much, but I'm going to stand firm with the golfers and help keep golf courses open.
Golf courses will be made illegal two days after people's front and back yards are made illegal. You know, those places that have been cleared of most trees around people's houses and are often watered and fertilized. And driveways, and streets to those houses (not many trees in the middle of roads).
Get in your car (I bet you have one) and drive to the local golf course and see the "area". Then get in your car (I bet you have one) and drive around some neighborhoods and see how fast the area of front and back yards exceeds the entire area of the golf course. Then get on your computer, that uses electricity and report back to us, of course having lights on in your house and probably even have it heated or air conditioned.
Probably not going to get a best answer for this will I?When will golf courses be made illegal throughout the world?
You are basing your want on flawed logic anyway. Global warming is not a "very real international crisis", it is a politically induced hysteria that leftist wackjobs are using try and control the habits of the masses.
Golf courses are natural, provide the same earth habitats that would occur naturally. I have a golf course close you my house and it is a great feeding ground for all kinds of predators, both aviary and ground based.
You might want to do some independent research instead of living off the spoonfed, liberalist, brainwashing you've been getting.
ban gof courses just because it leads to global warming? so what if they take valuable real estate, they take all that water when poor people in thirld wold countries cant seem to get enough for personal use, so what if that land can be retuned for better use and planted trees on? dont you see the rich, when they get too bored from their expensive parties and jet-set lifestyles, come to the golf courses and relax a little? dont you want the rich to be a little relaxed?
i fear if they donot get this relaxation, maybe they will get all sore inside and possibly even drop the pretense of democracy we have, maybe we will burn like the poor of burma.
It will happen eventually, unless something pretty drastic is done.
