Why do dress shirts have vertical lines, while golf shirts have horizontal lines?

The odd shirts have a grid pattern, but I have never seen a golf shirt with vertical lines and a button-up dress shirt have horizontal lines. Is there some fashion reason they are designed this way?Why do dress shirts have vertical lines, while golf shirts have horizontal lines?That way people are distracted form there very hard nipples.Why do dress shirts have vertical lines, while golf shirts have horizontal lines?Dress shirts often have vertical lines to make you look tall, and somewhat authoritative. This is good in the workplace for a boss with a little less steam. Meanwhile, there's no need to be authoritative on the golf course, just fun, and that is certainly the signal you get from horizontal lines. It usually makes you look fatter.
