How do I design a golf course?

I love the game of golf and I have thought about becoming an architect when I get older to possibly design courses. What is a good way to start practicing designing courses?How do I design a golf course?Since you are just starting, draw it out on a piece of paper first. After, you can make it more elaborate (possibly 3D or something). I would Try and play, or visit as many courses as possible too, in youre search in finding what style courses you gravitate for, and take notes.

Getting to shadow a working course architect (or even just doing a Q%26amp;A via email) should give you some great insights into the profession.
