Should i try teaching my friend how to play golf in a week with our tournament around the corner?

I wanted to try out for the school golf team so i went to the meeting and my friend tagged along to wait for me. But since there was only three girls at the meeting( including my friend) he said we all made the team...and we didn't even have a try out. And i was laughing because my friend made the team and didn't even try out but shes never played golf in her life and she wants to be on the team for fun...but that means i'd only have a couple days to teach her how to play golf so she doesn't embarres herself. Does she embaras easily? I hope not, golf should always be fun regardless the score. Encourage her, ask if she wants advise, or if she wants to learn on her own. And show some respect for her and her answers. Who knows, she may be pretty good with some practice or maybe she's even just a natural and kicks your butt. If you want to help with short game and putting that cool.

Encourage her to go to the range鈥?a lot.

People get very frustrated with golf, teaching and playing.

I like giving tips, but I almost always bit my tongue, most people just don鈥檛 want to hear it. If someone asks for help it鈥檚 different. Just be positive and encourage her.

She absolutely needs more practice before entering a tournament.

Show her something. She is going to be in for a rude awakening regardless. You can't learn golf in a week. It takes that long to understand how to hold the club. Show her chipping and putting for certain.
