How much of a profit does the average municipal golf course make a year?

I don't see how golf courses can operate in the black.....How much of a profit does the average municipal golf course make a year? The golf business is tough in all sectors now. One advantage municipal courses have in no property taxes. Another, land costs are usually very low and well managed courses have little to no debt if they have been around for a while. Improvements (capital, golf course) are often put off or eliminated so the product is usually a lower quality. Few courses operate in the black today. How much of a profit does the average municipal golf course make a year? They just try to break even, since they are more a service to their communities. Most fall under the park service so ask yourself if parks, little league fields , tennis courts, swimming pools and play ground equipment owned by the city is suppose to turn much profit.
