Should I quit my other highschool sports if i want to go somewhere in golf?

I play golf in the fall

Basketball in the winter

and baseball in the spring

I dont like baseball at all and have been told by the local pro's at my home course that i have a definate chance of going to at least Division 2 golf college........What should i do?Should I quit my other highschool sports if i want to go somewhere in golf? Why do you feel like this would help you?

If anything playing other sports will make you a BETTER golfer, anytime you are in better shape you will perform better at what you do. Stick with it all and just get to the course or the range as much as possible.Should I quit my other highschool sports if i want to go somewhere in golf?
Bottomline, you should go with what you feel will work for you. For you to succeed in ANY sport, the first and foremost criteria is that you have to love and passion for that sport before you could even get good at it.

Sounds like baseball is not the sport for you. Depending on where you live, some places golf is out of the question in the winter time, so if this is the case for you, then I would concentrate on Golf and keep playing basketball as just a pleasure sport. During the winter times when, or if, you are not playing basketball, you can always hit the driving range or take golf lessons with a pro too.Should I quit my other highschool sports if i want to go somewhere in golf?Don't you youngsters ever discuss anything with your parents or have they become a non-entity with the present generation? Their experience is boundless and they can advise you because many of the mistakes you are about to make, they have experienced themselves. You had better be excellent academically or even a Division ll school may not accept you. If you give up all sports in order to play golf, what is their replacement? One thing would be to learn spelling.
If you really love golf and want to progress as a player, then I would quit the other sports and focus my attention on golf and becoming a better player. If your main objective is to become good enough to play for a D2 school, then you'll probably be able to achieve that, but you'll be content with it. Instead, focus on becoming a better golfer in general and on making good swings. With no set goal to reach, the possibilities for growth are endless.Should I quit my other highschool sports if i want to go somewhere in golf?Depending on where you live, generally can't play golf in the winter, so stick with Basketball to stay in shape and because it is a great game, but in the spring give up baseball and concentrate on golf. Baseball is a great game as well, but if you have a chance for a scholarship with golf then concentrate on that.Should I quit my other highschool sports if i want to go somewhere in golf?
Why limit yourself to just the one sport? They can compliment each other many times.

Golf is a very mental sport. When the pressure is on, you can remember close basketball games with the pressure of the crowd and not loose your focus.

Too many in golf, when they smell victory, forget their training/practise and let the adrenaline try to do something that sends them into the rough.

Variety gives balance.

Just keep it fun

Good luck
When I was at development age for sport I played Gaelic football, hurling, soccer and dabbled a bit in amateur boxing.Looking back (I'm nearly 40!) I wish I had concentrated on just one sport. A number of people have told I could have earned a good living from soccer - even at a semi-pro level. But I was a late developer in soccer - even though it was my favourite.

If you believe you have what it takes, go deep. Play golf til u are sick of it, then play some more; and more.

It might be good to stick with baseball though, as some of its skills can be of use in golf; strength, accuracy etc.

Golf is not seasonal if you want to succeed!!Should I quit my other highschool sports if i want to go somewhere in golf?
You should quit baseball. Play golf in the spring. If you truly want to play in college, I would consider strictly focusing on golf. Most professionals who played other sports when they were younger, focused on golf once they got into high school.
You should quit playing baseball. Because in baseball you won't recognize too many players playing, in golf its only you, its individual sports. You might play with a college team but its individual.
Ya.... Thats what I did....

I was playing Golf and Baseball... This year I stoped playing baseball and Im happy for doing it

So I think you should do it too
If your playing baseball quit. I love baseball but it will mess up your golf swing
I'ld stick with golf and try to play at the D2 school.
no just incase you dont go any where with it you want to have a back up
