I am 16 years old am i good enough to become a Golf Tour Professional?

I am 16 years old and my handicap is 9, my average score round 18 holes is 75 on a par 70 course. i drive a ball on average 260 - 300 yard. I'm at my last year at school and i am wondering if a can make a living with golf. I play almost everyday and I'm a very determined person. What should i do!I am 16 years old am i good enough to become a Golf Tour Professional? To be honest, you've got a lot of work to do. The difference between 9 h'cap and scratch is massive, and most tour pros were scratch or very close by their late teens.

Even at county level, the under-18s championships will have a handicap limit of about 4, and there is (or was last year) a 13-year-old from Wales with a handicap of 2.

It's not impossible, but you'll have to work really hard and hope you develop physically too if you want to cut it as a tour pro. Only the very best make it.I am 16 years old am i good enough to become a Golf Tour Professional?
It sounds like you have a pretty good game and with your drive and determination, of course you can. You will, as I'm sure you know have to devote a great deal of time, if you want to make it. Continue to play in school and try to enter some tournaments in your area if you can. They experience you will gain will be of great value to you as you move forward. Work hard and you can achieve anything you want. Good Luck.I am 16 years old am i good enough to become a Golf Tour Professional? My son was 17 and capatain of his high school golf team. He averaged 73 on a par 72 course and drove it the same distance as you. He was told by some college coaches that they had a ton of high school number ones who could shoot 72 and they needed sub par kids that shoot in the 60's.

If you are determined, then get a quality coach to work one on one with you. Work on your short game. The kids that made states were excellent chippers and fantastic putters. It will take alot of work and committment. Go for it.
Try entering most of the amateur tournaments in your area , pay the entry fee and see how you stack up against those in your age group and those who have similar aspirations. This is the competition which you will face locally. Just imagine what the best 5 % of the players from around the country are shooting.
