How to earn a college golf scholarship?

My grades are very good, GPA like 4.53. My average score is about 84 and I'm a junior in high school. How could I go about earning a golf scholarship, and how much better do I need to get to be able to earn one? Thank you.How to earn a college golf scholarship?Sorry no one has told you that as a junior in HS and shooting 84 you have better chance of winning the lottery than getting a golf scholarship. Like others have already pointed out, even the larger D1 schools only fund one or two full golf scholarships a year and a few partial scholarships. So golf is not your ticket to finance your college education. But don't give up. Looks like you have the grades to get into a great college. One day you will be making multi-billion dollar deals on the golf course. How to earn a college golf scholarship? You have more than half the battle done with your grades. NCAA grade requirements differ between divisions I, II and III. NCAA division III nor NAIA schools offer athletic scholarships but can assist you with academic funding if they want you bad enough.

Believe it or not, an 84 scoring average can get you on a Division I school roster, but you must show potential for improvement by your athletic ability and just as important your attitude in regard to being able to be taught. A DI coach won't waste funds on an individual that refuses to accept teaching and/or instruction. I personally know one DII coach who preferred starting a 9 handicap over his star (+1 handicap) simply based on attitude. There are DI golf team members who actually have a higher scoring than you currently have. By NO means is a 60's scoring average required!

Getting your name known is critical and contact with college coaches needs to happen soon in your case. (Being a junior).

Best of luck to you and keep up the good work on the course and in the classroom! How to earn a college golf scholarship?Chances are slim %26amp; none you'll be able to get a golf scholarship. Most colleges don't have golf teams %26amp; those that do have extreme difficulty funding them. As a result scholarships are very limited. If you're considered in the top 5% at a college you'll usually get a scholarship. This pretty much means unless you're the best golfer on the team you're out of luck. Golf scholarships are always partial scholarships, meaning if your semester bill is $16,000 only $4,000 will be covered by your golf scholarship.

It is in your best interest to start contacting schools you wish to attend about golf scholarships. In the rare chance you may get one you will have to work very hard for it. First, you should create a Youtube video showing great shots you make on the course. Then construct a CV about all your golf accomplishments including varsity letters %26amp; a recommendation letter from your coach.

Even with all of this your opportunities are slim. It may be a good idea to see if Nike, Calloway %26amp; other "golf brands" have any scholarships they offer as well. How to earn a college golf scholarship?
It depends, for a scholarship to a D1 school you would probably need to shoot a little below par consistently and show you can shoot in the high 60's, at D3 schools its different...My friend went to allegheny to play golf and he only shot around 80 81....moral is practice makes perfect!
