So i came in 5th in my high school county tournament and i am a freshman. i shot an 82 from the white tees. i putt really well i just dont hit the ball really far. I really believe i can play college golf but i dont know how to get noticed. Any ideas? How do i get noticed by college golf coaches?I played in college about 9 years ago. First keep working on your game, and DONT worry about distance. You shot a 82 without hitting it that far!? Work on wedges and putting as much as you can. If you want to get noticed make sure you play for your high school team, but also enter in junior tournaments. If you want to play for a top notch college and get a scholarship for golf you will have to have won some amateur tournaments and shoot in the high 60s low 70s. I wasn't a great high school golfer, but improved in college. I started shooting in the mid 70s tried out for the team and made it. I played for a division 3 college. If you want to play division 1 work on your game and enter some other amateur tournaments. Playing against other golfers that you don't know is the best way to get used to the pressure. Some people can handle that pressure. Have fun and I wish you the best you are on the right track. How do i get noticed by college golf coaches?
You have 3 years to distinguish your self in high school play, reduce your 82 by at least 11 strokes, enter all the open and local amateur tournaments and make a very good showing and there might be a coach who notices you. What you believe is fine. Just remember that there are 10,000 others who are thinking the same way as you. Enter a couple of Junior tournaments and see how you do. This is your competition. How do i get noticed by college golf coaches?Definitely keep it up...
Document your scores and keep newspaper articles. Write to schools (over email) to the coach, send a video of clips of your swing and introduce yourself, and see if they can come meet with you.
VERY IMPORTANT- That you sign up for as many golf scholarships as you can because it always helps. How do i get noticed by college golf coaches?
82 isn't bad as a freshman. i was barely shooting that as a freshman but with practice by sophmore year I was in the 70's consistently.
Aside from the above - tourneys, talking to your coach, etc... I would put together a profile. I think there are sites online that cater to high schoolers wanting to get a scholarship in sports. If there's not there should be.
Make some videos, post your scores, send out letters.
Promote yourself basically. They'll hear about you.
JoeHow do i get noticed by college golf coaches?Speak to your coach. He can make some recommendations. A serious golfer is usually out playing tournaments. School tournaments are just really practice.
Enter local tournaments in your town that are unrelated to school.

AJGA, IJGT, FCWT, and PGA Junior Series tournaments
and send a cover letter and resume to coaches at schools you'd be interested in playing at
I am also a freshman and i would say that entering tournaments and getting your name in the papers would help. Also reducing your strokes and handicap in the next 3 years would also help
