How do you work out what size golf clubs you need?

Im 16 and wanting to start playing golf. I am 168 cm tall (finished growing) .

My dad has a set of clubs and im wanting to use those but I need to know if they are they right size... so how do you know if they are the right size? or how do you know what size you need? thanks!!How do you work out what size golf clubs you need?First off, your height has nothing to do with it. The measurements that matter most are hand size, and wrist to floor. Some of the factors that are involved in fitting is these measurements, swing speed, and swing plane. A professional will be able to tell you the grip size, the length of the clubs, the flex, the loft, and the lie of the clubs you need in order to make the most of your equipment. Go to a Golfsmith, Golf Galaxy, or a local pro shop and they will be able to get you fitted and tell you what type of clubs would work best for you.How do you work out what size golf clubs you need?
It's all about how you address the ball. You can tell if its the right size when you address the ball and the club is completely flat on the ground. This means you don't want the toe or heal sticking up when you address the ball. If you want to know what size you need you should go to a golf store (Roger Dunns) and get fitted.

P.S. Also check the stiffness of the shaft of the club is. If you're just starting you probably want to start at a regular stiffness. How do you work out what size golf clubs you need?i dont know for certain, but my teacher told me a 5 iron should be around your belly button if its straight up (perpendicular to the ground)

i think its a matter of personal preference, and if you like the clubs, you can always get them a little bit shorter or longer

the clubhead sole (bottom of the clubhead) should rest square on the ground at address, without you having to hold the grip awkwardly. if you know how to grip a golf club and address a ball, you should naturally choke up on the grip if its too long or have your left pinky right on the very edge of your grip if its too short to compensate for the length. if your chocking up a lot then they should be shorter

if when you grip the club and get ready to swing the toe of the clubhead is lifted, its too long. If the heel of the club (the part closest to the shaft) is lifted, its too short

about 80% of golfers are standard length, so (im not sure what 168 cm looks like off the top of my head) if your avg height, you should be ok with your dads clubs, if theyre designed for females

males require longer clubs usuallyHow do you work out what size golf clubs you need?
first your dads clubs are probably too stiff for you. womens clubs have more flex in shafts. possibly a lil too long but all you need is to choke-up on grip so you are comfortably bent at waist, with blade edge of club square on turf. try them. can't hurt. but try ladies clubs to see difference. watch women golfers (pros) see how they stand when they address the ball for there shot. will give you a visual idea of how you should look in front of a mirror. How do you work out what size golf clubs you need?look at how tall your dad is and how tall you are. they probably aren't the right clubs for you. men usually get steel shafts while women use graphite because our swings aren't as strong. How do you work out what size golf clubs you need?
Go to a golf pro shop and get fitted by a PGA professional

How Much Do You Really Know About Golf Courses?

Why do golf courses have 18 holes, not 20, 10, or even a dozen? This is a trivia question.

Do NOT give me an Internet link for your answer. Please give full details.

Good luck! How Much Do You Really Know About Golf Courses?St Andrews (Old Course) had 12 holes by 1764, and probably much earlier. The holes were laid out in a line and 10 holes were played twice - once 'out' and once back 'in', making a 'round' of 22 holes. However, in 1764, the golfers decided to combine the first four holes into two, which produced a round of 18 holes, though it was really 10 holes of which 8 were played twice.

Therefore, when Prestwick was built in 1851 with only 12 holes, it did not look out of place.

By 1857 however, St Andrews had put second holes in the 8 double greens of the Old Course, creating a proper round of 18 holes, and in 1858 the St Andrews club laid down a round of 18 holes for matches between its own members.

The double greens explain the origin of the different coloured flags on the first nine holes from the back nine, as you needed these at St Andrews to tell you to which hole you are playing on the double greens (see picture below). However, this did not include the eighteenth hole, which on the Old Course still has the same white flag as the that of the first nine holes. The adoption of different coloured flags by other courses for the front and back nine holes seems to be a misunderstanding of this situation as the double greens is a problem they did not have.

Modern Old Course Holes 8 (near) and 10 (far) on double green

In 1867, Old Tom Morris advised Carnoustie when they extended their ten holes to eighteen holes, apparently the second course to do so after St Andrews.

Montrose also dates to about this time. In 1810 it had at least 7 holes played as a round of 17 holes. By 1825, there were 14 separate holes, which became 11 holes played as a round of 17 holes, as detailed on a scorecard of 1849. However, by 1866 there were 25 holes, played in a recorded competition in 1866. So it would in theory have been possible to play 18 holes at Montrose at this time. Later, in 1871 the Town Council proposed alterations to the land use, which reduced the playing area , though these developments were not fully implemented until years later. The recompense they offered was a new golf course, referred to as the New Circular Course which was officially opened on Saturday 29th September 1888. There is a map, made in 1903, of the 18 hole course of 1896. This was after further course developments and with more being planned.

By about 1875, Old Tom Morris had, amongst other improvements to bunkers, greens and fairways, created separate teeing areas at St Andrews, which produced the present layout. Many credit Old Tom with the creation of the manicured golf course that we see today.

However, the Old Course, like most early courses, has the ninth hole as the furthest away from the clubhouse. The first nine are still the 'out' nine, then you turn to play back 'in'. It was not until well into the twentieth century that the convention of two circles of nine holes, beginning and ending near the clubhouse, became fashionable.

From 1872, the British Open golf championship was held annually in rotation at Prestwick, St Andrews and Musselburgh, where the three sponsor clubs were based. The contest was over 36 holes and it was, therefore, three rounds when it was held at Prestwick, two rounds when at St Andrews and four rounds at Musselburgh. The competition must have created comparison of the courses and the 18 holes at St Andrews would have seemed the most appropriate.

Thus, in 1882, Prestwick expanded its course to 18 holes and in 1891 when the Honourable Company built Muirfield they created 18 holes in the first year. As they sponsored the Open, the championship moved with them from Musselburgh to Muirfield. With the three foremost clubs in the world using 18 holes, this set the norm for a golf roundHow Much Do You Really Know About Golf Courses? They used to have different amounts of holes, ranging from 5 to 24, the old course at St. Andrews had only 12 holes, and a round consisted of 22, 10 of them were played twice, and there were 2 holes only played once. Then one year they decided to combine the first four holes into two holes, thus turning a round into 18 holes. The Royal %26amp; Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews then declared that an official round of golf.

The old 18 shots of Scotch is a fun rumour, but a false rumour. How Much Do You Really Know About Golf Courses? It is pretty much agreed that "modern" golf became popular in Scotland where they like to drink Scotch Whiskey. A fifth of whiskey holds 18 shots, and the players would bet a shot per hole. When the bottle ran out (18 holes) they were done. Not sure if it was the winner or the loser of the hole who had to down the shot? Anyway that is one story of how there came to be 18 holes on a standard golf course. Chicago Golf Club was the first 18 holes course built in America.

How much of a time commitment is D2 college golf?

I am a college freshman and currently am on the golf team. Because I would like to become a pediatrician some day, my advisor signed me up for classes leading to a cellular/molecular biology major. Golf practice is 4 hours each day, which takes a big chunk of study time away from me. Is 4 hours of daily practice excessive? reasonable? Please help. How much of a time commitment is D2 college golf?I play D2 golf and it really all depends on the program. Some schools practice 3 times a week but you will never ever practice every day. First off you have travel during the season and second the NCAA does not allow 7 days a week. The coach has to give a day off at least one per week. 4 hours a day is reasonable.. If you are just doing range stuff you wont be there for four hours but walking 18 does take that long. However, if you want to get out of practice because it is too much then just schedule your class during part of the practice. Your coach has to understand and they only offer niche classes at certain times. You can do half practice/half class on like Tue Thur. But its not too bad really. How much of a time commitment is D2 college golf? This is a funny question. If I could golf for free EVERY DAY and practice, I would be damn good. Gotta learn to balance school and golf. I have 15 hours a week (5 classes) and go to work after for 4-6 hours, and get GOOD grades. If you care about golf anywhere near where I do, you need to stick with golf. You have the opportunity of a lifetime to do what you love(golf) and get an education for FREE.How much of a time commitment is D2 college golf? It's reasonable for the level of golf you're playing, but certainly on the higher side. If you want to focus on your major, it may be may be wise to quit the team, however, you should give it a trial period to find out whether or not you will be overwhelmedHow much of a time commitment is D2 college golf?
4 hours EVERY day seems excessive.. i played D3 golf and we had 4 hour practices but only 4 times a week... we would hit balls on the range and do various drills... do some chipping, putting, sand shots ect.. then play 18 holes. 4 hours EVERY day while keeping up with classes is rough... make a decision to rough it out or just drop the team i would say.

How do I wire a 12 volt light to a 12 volt golf cart without burning anything out?

I just want to add a light to my golf cart but I'm afraid I might damage something. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!How do I wire a 12 volt light to a 12 volt golf cart without burning anything out?run hot wire from battery to switch, run wire from switch to light. ground light to frame. How do I wire a 12 volt light to a 12 volt golf cart without burning anything out?The previous answer is correct if you have a gas golf cart that uses a single 12 volt battery, if you have an electric golf that uses multiple 12 volt batteries to create a 36 volt or 48 volt configuration, then its totally different. Assuming you have a gas cart with one battery, installing the switch and the light will probably take more time than running the wires to operate the light. Make sure you put in a fuse. When you buy the switch for your light, it will most likely have a simple wiring diagram on the package to make it easy. Hope this helps.

hit a golf ball.... did they get complaints? Why did they edit out the anti-feminist portions of the zyrtec golf commercial? Here's what happens. When a commercial is first aired, it is often the "long" version, up to 60 seconds. After a couple of weeks, when people are familiar with the commercial an edited (shorter) version of the commercial is played. This version continues to reinforce the message of the original commercial but the sponsor pays less for the reduced broadcast time. Why did they edit out the anti-feminist portions of the zyrtec golf commercial?Roger, there is nothing even remotely "anti-feminist " about this commercial. The ten or 11 year old daughter, after hitting a perfect shot, gives a look of confidence and the mother looks at her as if to say, it is a good thing I took my Zyrtec because I have my work cut out for me.

Why did they edit out the anti-feminist portions of the zyrtec golf commercial? To read into the commercial that they are somehow showing "amazement that even girls can hit a golf ball" is pathetic. If any feminist complained about this commercial they are are just showing their own insecurities and ignorance. Very cute commercial.

  • How to make a golf cart street legal?

OK, so I have a golf cart and I would like to make it street legal so if I'm riding around in it I don't get a big ticket. I probably won't be riding on major roads, but if I do get pulled over or someone reports me, I want to be fully equiped so I don't get into trouble.

I live in NJ. If you could give me a website of the street rules and regulations for my state that would be great. Or my town: Upper Township. Thanks! How to make a golf cart street legal?I don't think that;s possible, but I'll try to find out.

I'm guessing you will need the town board to pass an ordinance allowing it. This could be a fun project for you. Contact your alderman or town selectman or whatever they are called there and ask if they are interested in working with you on a green project. All you really need for safety is an orange triangle on the back of the cart and a good understanding of the hand signals you learn in driver's ed. but you should offer to wire the cart with brake lights and turn signals and headlights, and offer to have the headlights on at all times. You can wire that stuff yourself off a 12 v battery and lights and wire you can buy at any auto parts or farm store.

If you'll be driving it inside a city or town for the most part, I would start out there. Call up the local police first and just inquire if it would be legal wired up as I have described, but don't argue with them. If they say no, then your next step is the city council or town board.

Good luck. I think this kind of thing is the wave of the future. We drive around town in massive hunks of steel and plastic that weight 10 times what we need for getting around an urban area.

What kind of cleaning solution should i use on my golf club grips?

I would like to make my grips a little more sticky. I heard that if you clean them, it helps. However, i do NOT want to ruin the grip themselves. The type of grip i have is a "Golf Pride - Sofftie". I don't want to go out and buy any "SPECIAL" kind of cleaner... I'd like to use a household type of all purpose cleaner. What kind of cleaning solution should i use on my golf club grips? It can be as easy as soapy water. Scrub them good with a sudsy washcloth and wipe with a clean towel until dry. You can brush with a Brillo pad or very fine grit sandpaper to make tackier, although I may forget the sandpaper on a grip like the Sofftie. Make it a habit while playing (especially in hot weather) to keep a wet end of your towel to wipe the grips down with, then dry end to finish. A little care will preserve them for quite a while, although you should change grips at least every other season, or every season for very active golfers. What kind of cleaning solution should i use on my golf club grips?
When your grips get dirty and slick it is because of the oil from the sweat in your hands and they will regain some of their original tack if they are not too worn. Use a household degreaser such as Fantastik and wipe them down thoroughly; rinse them off to remove any residue. You will also be removing the oxidation that has built up and you'll see lots of black coming off. If the grips are still shiny try rubbing them with a piece of sandpaper to buff them up a bit. What kind of cleaning solution should i use on my golf club grips?Warm Water and mild dish washing soap. What kind of cleaning solution should i use on my golf club grips?
car soap and a brush... put the soapy water into a bucket and just take the brush and scrubWhat kind of cleaning solution should i use on my golf club grips?A mild detergent and warm water is best. Dip a Turkish towel end into the water, ring out excess then wash down grip; dry with dry part of Turkish( bath ) towel. If still not clean, repeat the process. The same procedure should be used to clean the club faces. There is no need for steel wool, harsh cleansers , all purpose cleaners. The club face is tended to after the shot while the grips can be wiped at the end of a round. What kind of cleaning solution should i use on my golf club grips?
dishsoap and warm water. that'll also retack the grips, unless they're so far gone they should be replaced. if you don't want to do that, take fine sandpaper and rub it on the grips. as close to new as you can get!

What is the initial velocity of a golf ball?

Agolf ball is hit off a tee with an initial velocity of 128 feet per second. If h(t)=-16t^2 +128t is the equation that models this event,

a)after how many seconds will the the golf ball reach a height of exactly 112 feet?

b)after how many seconds will the ball reach its maximum height?

c)what is the maximum height of the golf ball?

d)after how many seconds will the ball touch the ground?

PLEASE HELP!!!! i have NO IDEA how to do this. explain step by step. What is the initial velocity of a golf ball?a) -16t^2 +128t =112

    -t^2 + 8t - 7 = 0

    t^2 - 8t + 7 = 0

    (t - 1)(t - 7) = 0

    t = 1 , 7 =%26gt; at 1 sec and 7 sec in the way up and down respectively

    b) a = -16 %26lt; 0 , the parabola opens down which makes the vertex at the maximum hence:

    t = -b/2a = -128/-32 = 4 sec =%26gt; time to reach the max h.

    c) h(4) = 256 feet max h

    d) t^2 - 8t = 0

    t(t - 8) - 0

    t = 0, 8 =%26gt; hence after 8 seconds it will hit the ground.What is the initial velocity of a golf ball?a) is simple. Plug 112 feet for h(t) and solve for t. 112 = -16t^2 + 128t. I'll let you solve this yourself.

For b you need to differentiate the h(t) function.
    b) h'(t) = -32t + 128 = 0
    -128 = -32t
    t = 4

    Second derivative test:
h''(t) = -32 (negative means concave down --%26gt; maximum height)

so at t = 4, the ball is at its max height.

    c) now you know the time of its max height, plug t=4 back to its original function for height.
    Solve h(4) yourself.

    d) When it reaches the ground, its height is 0. Solve for h(0). You'll get two answer, one of them is 0 where it first starts. The other will be 0 = -16t^2 + 128t
Finding t is very simple. What is the initial velocity of a golf ball?appears golf ball thrown up... from the model equation.

    initial velocity is 128 ft/sec

    h(t) = ut + 1/2 at^2.....112 = -16t^2 + 128t .....t^2 -8t +7 =0.........(t -7) ( t-1) =0

    t =1,7

    but v = u +at.............v(t) = 128 -32 t ...a nd at max height v(t) =0 ....so, t =4 sec for max height

so, after 1 sec going up, 7sec coming down for 112 feet.

    If h(t)=-16t^2 +128t substitute t = 4sec ....so, max hight is 256 feet

after 4 sec equation is h(t) = 16t^2 and distance is 256 feet so, 4sec after reaching hmax and 8 sec after thrown up.

How does my dog find golf balls?

My dog is a border collie (sheepdog) 1 year old. I go over to my local golf course looking for golf balls and he he has learned from watching me that it's golf balls I'm looking for. What he does now is he would be walking along and then out of nowhere he jumps into a bush and comes out with a golf ball in his mouth! He finds about 6 or 7 every time I go out. I'm just wondering how does he know they are there?! Because the bushes are so dense it's impossible to see into them! How does my dog find golf balls?Border Collies are extremely intelligent dogs and learn very quickly. He is doing it by scent, the balls are handled by people, people have unique but similar scents, and he has associated golf balls as a way of getting praise from you.

I will bet you scratch his ears and make a big deal out of it when he finds one. If so, you are giving him exactly what you want.

Border collies are one of the smartest dogs I have meet and I love training them. How does my dog find golf balls?
A word of caution if I may. A golf ball is easily swallowed and costs a lot to get back! I have been privy to visiting a museum where on display, were golf balls that had been retrieved from a dogs stomach (by operations) at various stages. It was amazing how the stomach juices react to the foreign object but still not a nice thing to have to put a dog through.

How many total acres of land do all of the golf courses in the US use?

I'm trying to find out land use statistics of golf courses in general in the US. Thanks! How many total acres of land do all of the golf courses in the US use?Well, I found on a website that there were nearly 32,000 golf courses worlwide in 2005 and about half of them are in the U.S.

It doesn't say exactly how many acres of land is used for all the golf courses, but it does state that the average golf course is about 75 acres.

So, an estimate would be about 1,200,000 acres.

(75 acres x 16,000 courses)How many total acres of land do all of the golf courses in the US use?"There are more than 17,000 golf courses in the United States, and approximately 70 percent of that land is not used for playing," as of July 12, 2007.

I also found this article from 2000.

In the United States, there are approximately 15,000 golf courses, accounting for an estimated 4 million acres. Seventy percent of that area is considered rough or out-of-play, and has the potential for creating significant wildlife benefits (Tilly, 2000). More golf courses are created each year, with a typical golf course comprising 54 hectares of land (Terman, 1997).

So based on the approximate acres from their estimate in 2000, the current acres used would be about 4.5 million.

Is it right for my 15yr old daughter's golf coach to text her at night privately?

My daughter is open about the texting. She does think it is kinda wierd. She really likes the coach. However, i asked her if she is the only one that he texts and she said yes. From what i have seen or heard of the texts they are like inspirational or affirmations that she is a great person. I am just not sure how professional this is and why is she the only one of the athletes that is gettting privately texted off hours and even on Sunday nights.

Also, this coach has given her two REALLY nice golf clubs. Is it right for my 15yr old daughter's golf coach to text her at night privately? You need to be careful.

It is true that sometimes people have good intentions, but they end up expressing themselves in an inappropriate way.

I don't think you should jump down the coach's back just yet.

First, you should inform your daughter that she needs to be very open with you about everything the coach says and does. If he pats her on the back after practice, everything. Make sure she knows that if he begins to step over boundaries, she needs to alert you ASAP. Make it clear that you don't believe she's done anything wrong and that you believe he has good intentions.

Secondly, make sure your daughter saves EVERY text message she receives from him. If she's already deleted the ones so far, tell her to start keeping them. Don't tell her it's for future prosecution if the need arises, just tell her that you need to see each and every one of them. Don't rely on what she tells you.

It is scary, but sex offenders have very sneaky ways of getting even the most intelligent of children to comply and keep quiet about things that go on. They also have ways of convincing the child that the things they are doing aren't wrong. Your daughter needs to watch out for things he might say, such as things like "Even if you told your parents, they wouldn't care because it isn't wrong." Things like that.

Next, I would talk to the coach. Go see him privately, in person, and ask to speak with him alone. Request that he please stop text messaging your daughter. Make it clear that you do not believe that anything suspicious is going on, but that you have a duty to protect your daughter and you just don't see how these special text messages are going to do her any good. Be open with him about your fears about what these text messages could lead to.

Also, make it clear that if you ever have a sneaky suspicion, you will not hesitate to contact higher school board authorities, and you will not have a problem pursuing a court case if the need arises. He needs to know that you don't feel like the attention he gives your daughter is appropriate and that you are serious in your hopes that it will discontinue.

So, the jist of it is: Be open and clear with your daughter, and speak to the coach privately about the matters.
Ok...here is what I would do.

Contact some of your daughter's team-mates parents. Find out for SURE that she is the only one being texted, as this could totally change the tone of your situation.

If your daughter is, then I have a HUGE red flag that she is being "targeted" for something.

Yes, coaches do invest in their good players...however, this sounds a little more emotionally invested than just wanting her to keep her chin up...it sounds like he may have inappropriate feelings for her...and you both are absolutely correct in questioning this behavior.

Keep the texts for future reference and I will pray you never need them!Is it right for my 15yr old daughter's golf coach to text her at night privately? As a female who has experienced sexual assault while in middle school form a teacher, I strongly believe that you should keep an eye on your daughter and her coach's relationship. It's a fact that most predators prowl on males and females who they feel that they can control or have power over. And him being her teacher may possibly be fueling this feeling. I am not saying that he is fiending for her but you should ensure that you know the status of the situation at all times. Because it only takes a spark to start a fire. Also being that you have some uncomfortable feelings about the situation could be a sign that you should put an end to this situation. ***Mother Intuition is never wrong***
No! Get a copy of Gavin deBecker's The Gift of Fear and read it ASAP! Your daughter's coach sounds very much like a sexual predator. They're not all violent. Many use indebtedness (the golf clubs), charm, etc. to weasel their way into their target's life.

If this is someone involved with your daughter's school, report him to the school administration. If you have the means to do so, keep track of the texting and try to save the messages. Above all, get your daughter out of the situation. Now.Is it right for my 15yr old daughter's golf coach to text her at night privately?Totally NOT OK !!! Have a tallk with the coach.
You really need to step in . Your the father and you can put a stop to this now before something happens to your daughter. There are some really sick people out in this world. If I were you I would take your daughters phone from her at night around 9. The next time he text her you text him back or call him . You need to let her golf coach know your not comfortable with him texting her and being that friendly. You need to have your daughter give the really nice golf clubs back to him. Here is a web site you might want to take a look at http://www.familywatchdog.us/ .
Sounds like you need to report your coach to his supervisor. It is highly inappropriate and sounds as if he is "grooming" her. Let me put it to you this way, if you have to question his behavior, then it is obviously wrong.
Did you really need to ask this question? Does your daughter's new golf coach do this?
No. You should first talk to your daughter, and then to both of them together. You are her parent, and you need to know what she is up to. She is a teenager, and that is a vulnerable age. It may be innocent, and that she wants somebody else to talk to. But as a parent, you need to know whether it is innocent, or whether he is taking advantage of her
Not OK - request a transcript of the text messages from your provider and then present them to the principal of the school. Even if there is nothing inappropriate in the language, there is certainly something inappropriate about the timing. There is something that pedophiles do that is called "grooming" - it means that they slowly push the envelope (being nice and understanding, giving gifts, etc) until their intended victim is comfortable and then they make their move - and especially with teenage girls (who are constantly fighting for acceptance), they may think that this guy loves them and that it is a real relationship when in fact she is probably just one of many children he has preyed on.

Go with your instincts! If you think that something is not right, act on it. As a parent I would rather be wrong and have to apologize to the coach for accusing him than be right and have to explain to my child why I did not do everything in my power to protect her.
I think that if something was happening.you should saw it that your daughter was changed.Dint worry.
is the coach young? I automatically was going to write no, but if he is like 18 or something, then maybe its not so bad.

older than that........... IT IS NOT ALRIGHT
Do you think that is normal?? If you did why would you write yahoo questions??? THINK ABOUT IT!!!!
this is really not ok and is pretty creepy...i understand that he probably sees start qualities in your daughter, obviously if he gave her golf clubs and is sending her inspirations messages, but if he really wants her to know her potential he should speak to you. i remember my male basketball coach would talk to me AND my parents about my potential and that i was really good and what not, but he would talk to me along with my parents about what i should do...but this is unprofessional for him to be contacting her especially if he's only contacting her...i think you should speak to him that you don't really appriciate the text messages bc it give you the wrong idea about his true intentions
i'll be worried and i'm 17. Many of my managers at work use to use that excuse of texting to get closer or flirt with the girls at my job. Her golf coach figures texting shouldn't be an alarm because its not on the phone or in person. Especially midnight, i dont know seems to me a coach shall be pushing your daughter to study and go to bed for school not to stay up at midnight texting her. YOU SHALL BE WORRIED!
He needs to be reported before he tries more then texting. There are red flags all over this one.
not okay.. I had GREAT relationships with all my coaches. During the sport season I think I spent more time with the Coaches than my own family. But this doesnt seem right.. I know a coach might txt once in awhile.. but this jus doesnt seem right.. especially with the gifts. I would start to be leary of this guy. Make sure your daughter does not let her self be vulernable!. I think this is crossing the line. I would start asking to see the rest of the text messages, he should be sening inspirational text msgs to the rest of the team than too. I wish u the best of luck, be careful!
I surgest you leave her to it but make sure at the same time nothing wrong. Make sure her behaviour isn't particulary wierd but whatever you do DO NOT go through her phone. If you loose her trust she will not stay away from her golf tutor no matter what you do. She will hate you. DOn't mess it up. Be there for her and be gratefull that she is still open with you about that is always a good sighn.

He is doing nothing wrong but texting her and so what if they get into a realationship I mean he can't be that much older than her. Its no different to just some random boyfriend infact its probably better you have good access to him and his background he seems trustworthy and your daughter likes him and is OPEN about him. WHen people are open they have nothing to hide.
I Honestly Believe Something Is Fishy About The Whole Thing, Your Daughter May Not Think Anything Of It But I Think You Should Keep Your Eyes And Ears Open Just In Case.. We Could Be Wrong But I Don't See A Problem With You Keeping A Close Watch On Your Daughter With Her Age And All.. If You Being The Parent Feel That Its Inappropriate Then Say So And Put And End To It..
    Call The Police....
I don't think it's right. She's the only one being texted? Is she the only receiving gifts too? It sounds like he's got a different agenda. He's using his mentoring skills to gain her trust. Your daughter also feels weird about it.

If I were you I would confront him and tell him that you don't appreciate her being texted. If he has anything inspiring to say that he should go through the family and call at the house. And also tell him that he shouldn't be giving her gifts as well.

This way he will know that your on to him.
No I am a volleyball coach and never call or text my players. If I have any schedule changes I call the parents if i have encouraging words for them I tell them at practice at the end of every season I do send all my players an email saying thanks for a great season give some things they did great at and tell them if they ever need anything they can call me. I am a girl coaching girls so this may be different but i think what he is doing is not ok.
i would talk to him if i was you, get his side of the story and if it doesnt seem right still i would get in touch with someone at the school
I would say this is not OK. I guess the only possibility of it being ok would be if she is the best player or something, but even then I would say he should stop this. I doubt she would be the one who needs to say something though. This may be one for Dad to address for her to keep her from being embarrassed or shunned. It needs to come from the parents.
Sounds a little fishy to me. . .
It's a little creepy. You need to talk to him and talk to your daughter.
hmmm ... sounds fishy to me. i would check this situation out big time .... or contact someone at the school . this isnt good at alll
It strikes me as a bit creep-ish....but perhaps there's very good reasoning in it? I doubt it but hey who knows you might have a female Tiger Woods on your hands.....its still kinda creep-ish to me though. I personally wouldn't trust it. Even if it is words of encouragement if your daughter is the only one getting them it should put serious questions in your mind.

There's a need for a bit more background info....how long has this been going on? Do they have a big thing coming up? (srry I don't do golf so I don't know the lingo) Is she in bad spirits maybe feeling down about something that she might have confided in either the coach or a friend of hers and the coach overheard?

Even if all of that were going on and this was only a last few days sort of thing the fact that she appears to be the only person he is sending these messages to still strikes me as a bit wonky. In your shoes I would have a nice (or not so nice) sitdown with her coach and find out what is going on. If I got a wonky vibe from him I would 1) report him for suspicious activity 2) get my daughter a new golf coach and 3) get my daughter a new cell phone number. But that's just me and I'm more than a little distrusting of most males as well as a firm believer in better safe than sorry.
you better watch out thats kinda suspicious
i think you should talk to her coach. i mean because it might be alright to say hey and bye...but not after hours. he might seem like a good coach but things are not the same as you think.
m im not sure about that it sounds kinda creepy wait that is creepy i think that in a polite but really concerned way you should confront him about it and aks him what his answer to that question is because no its not professional unless may be she was older way older and it was professional advice but shes fifteen so ya confront him

What is a good golf ball for a lot of spin?

I want to buy a golf ball that will give me a lot of backspin. Price is not an problem I will pay a lot. What is a good golf ball for a lot of spin?Nike One Platinum or Pro V1.

The Titleist Pro V1 is the most popular ball.

Do bear in mind that just buying the softest golf ball with not mean you will spin the ball back.

It will only help with getting spin and feel around the greenWhat is a good golf ball for a lot of spin?
Nike One Platinum is the highest spinning ball out of all retail balls. After that try the Pro V1.

The Callaway Tour ix is one of the lower spinning high end golf balls, good for a "high spin" player. What is a good golf ball for a lot of spin?ProV1, stay away from the ProV1x as it does not have nearly the spin of the ProV1
The best golf ball for spin is a nike Pro B but if you want a golf ball with good spin and good control ite a titleist 320 freak... that is what I use and I like it.What is a good golf ball for a lot of spin?Nike One Platinum has the highest spin rate. But don't forget that means more sidespin as well as backspin, so draws turn into hooks and fades turn into slices. What is a good golf ball for a lot of spin?
I personally like the Callaway Tour ball. I prefer it for spin and feel over Nike and Titliest. Just switched to them from ProV1 last week. Haven't lost distance and have better feel around greens
Everyone is going to say either the Pro V1 X or the Nike One Platinum. I would disagree a bit. The Bridgestone B330S gets a ton of spin. Its very under rated because most amateurs don't use it. Try it and your won't regret itWhat is a good golf ball for a lot of spin?
Keith, the best spinning ball money can buy is the Titliest ProV1.

Unfortunately, this spinning includes side spin i.e. hooks and slices.

No ball will guarantee backspin as much as a crisp downward compression of the ball with a ball-turf contact.

If you are looking for spin the Titleest ProV 1 is a good choice. The ProV 1x is actually for less spin and a faster swing speed. It's durability is also among the top choices.

The Calloway and Nike seemed to wear too fast for me. They just didn't hold up. It seemed like one good shot would leave a nasty groove mark.

The new Bridgestone Tour B330-S have been pretty good as well. I would rank them in the same catagory as the Titleist. I like that their duribility makes them last a little longer as well. The ball feels great off the tee and around the green.

    That's my two cents.....
Spin comes from proper shot execution. It is not built into the ball except through cover hardness. If you don't hit ball -turf there will be no spin.

Could anyone give me a funny explanation of why GOLF Balls have dimples?

I have a little brother who just wont listen to facts. The only way I can get him to learn anything is by putting a twist on the topic or making it funny, while at the same time still keeping the educational facts intact. Unfortunately I can't think of any funny reasons as to why golf balls have dimples. Therefore I would be really thankful if you'd help me out.Could anyone give me a funny explanation of why GOLF Balls have dimples?round balls are useless because birds will peck at them until a dimple forms...they will leave dimpled balls alone thoughCould anyone give me a funny explanation of why GOLF Balls have dimples?
Just tell your brother because the simples help to give the golfer a better grip when he has to put the ball on the tee. Otherwise the golfball will just slip from his hands. The other reason is so that he can sit and color in all of the dimples so he can tell his ball apart from other golfer's balls.Could anyone give me a funny explanation of why GOLF Balls have dimples? With the dimples, the ball flies further as compare with any other balls.... for the actual answer, please view my blog.Could anyone give me a funny explanation of why GOLF Balls have dimples?
Well? if you put the ball in your mouth and the ball was smooth, you couldn't control the ball... So with dimples it gives traction in the air. Like an airplane, when the ball is spinning in the air it will curve either in a Slice or a Draw and I've duffed the ball so bad a couple of times the ball spun all the way around like a boomerang and hit me in back of the head...Could anyone give me a funny explanation of why GOLF Balls have dimples?they wanted them to match you mom's a$$.Could anyone give me a funny explanation of why GOLF Balls have dimples?
need to smile if you wanna fly..

How much would it cost to turn a volkswagon golf into a covertible by a mechanic?

i really really want a volkswagon golf convertible for my first car but there is not one golf convertible for sale where i live, clearly i'm not looking hard enough but i would like to know if it would be easier just buying a regular golf and turning it into a convertible and how much would it cost.

please and thank you!How much would it cost to turn a volkswagon golf into a covertible by a mechanic? It can't really be done. The roof adds a lot of structural stiffness to a car, so when they make a convertible the whole body is beefed up.

Back in the early 1980s, Lee Iaccoca, the president of Chrysler, wanted to re-introduce convertibles to the US. (Our car companies hadn't been making convertibles for a while). He asked some of his engineers if they could convert one of their cars to a convertible, and they told him it was impossible. He got angry. He wanted to drive around in a convertible and see peoples' reactions. So they ended up cutting the roof off a car, but they also had to weld the doors closed and weld supports into them. So Iaccoca had to climb over the top to get in, but then he could drive it like a convertible, except of course he couldn't put the top up. They did end up re-introducing convertibles, though. 8^)How much would it cost to turn a volkswagon golf into a covertible by a mechanic? The convertibles that vw made were designed from the chassis up as verts. There are extra frame supports and stiffeners there, as well as body changes. All VW verts were designed by Karmann Coach Works which is no longer in business as they went bankrupt and out of business as of last year.

It is easier for you to find a Cabrio, or a Cabriolet and rebuild it than it is to make a coupe to a vert.

Before they made a new VW beetle vert, I saw a Road and Track article where some lady had a beetle customed by a shop as a vert for about 20K. Easily the cost of a used Cabrio.

the VW EOS is about the only Vert that you can buy from VW now.How much would it cost to turn a volkswagon golf into a covertible by a mechanic? So for your first car you want to spend over 20k in body work? Nice.

Just so you know. The Golf convertible you are looking for is called a Cabrio, and it is a Golf.

    Golf

    Golf - GTI

    Golf - Cabriolet

There is an mk1, mk3, and mk3.5 cabrio. Then of course the Eos came around as VW's new convertible. How much would it cost to turn a volkswagon golf into a covertible by a mechanic?
Lets see you need to find a custom body shop that can cut the roof off and reinforce the body. Then you need the top. Figure about $20,000 or so in parts and labor. Convertibles are more than just cars with no tops. The roof helps the car in many ways and when you take it off you need to reinforce the car to make up for the missing part.

When riding a golf cart how many miles will you still walk when playing 18 holes?

In a 18 hole round of golf walking it is about 7-8 miles with all things considered. How many miles do you still walk when riding a cart for 18 holes.?When riding a golf cart how many miles will you still walk when playing 18 holes? That would depend on how good a golfer you are!

If you hit alot of flub shots and miss the ball or hit the wrong direction youll get more walking in :)When riding a golf cart how many miles will you still walk when playing 18 holes?
Your first statistic is incorrect. The lenght of the average course is 6000 to 6500 yards. In between holes yardage is another 500 yards. So you are looking at a little over 4 miles. So getting into and out of the cart, walking from the parking areas to the tees and greens, the drink stand and the johns along with the short distances from the cart to the ball on the intermediate shots, one will walk a mile to a mile and a half tops. When riding a golf cart how many miles will you still walk when playing 18 holes? If you take into account that you would walk a minimum of 10 feet per shot on the fairway, 30 feet for every tee box, and at least 100 feet per green. That would be (30*18) + (100 * 18) + (30 * 10). Take into account if you are not allowed to drive to the ball from off the cart path you can add another (12 * 150 to 200 feet). That would be about 1680 yds. That would be slighty less then a mile. That does not take into account the walk to a restroom or snack bar or searching out of bounds if you lost a ball, so add about another half mile. Good luck
not very much at all, but it would depend on the course. if you are allowed to drive on the fairways then you pretty much arent walking at all, maybe 10-20 ft on each shot in the fairway and 30-60 ft to each green. so overall maybe around 700 ft to 1400 ft, which isnt even a half mile at most. To begin with golfing isnt the best exercise, so riding is pretty much like walking around your house. When riding a golf cart how many miles will you still walk when playing 18 holes? Not much at all. You drive your cart to near your ball, get off, hit the ball, and get on. The only longer walk would be when you park your cart beside the green and walk to it. I think in total probably in the 400 yards range for 18 hole. When riding a golf cart how many miles will you still walk when playing 18 holes?
that depends on how good of a golfer you are and the size of the golf course.
poop, running is better than golfWhen riding a golf cart how many miles will you still walk when playing 18 holes?
    less than 1 mile.

Well i wouldnt neccessarily say it is damaged, however my wedges hosel is slightly chipped just very slightly.

Consequently, will this affect the performance of this golf club?

Thanks. Can a damaged golf hosel affect performance?a chip will not bother club at all. if you feel it needs checking regarding being bent. any qualified golf repair shop will check. reset to factory or better yet your specs regarding lie angle and loft for your swing. the cost 5 dollars. very very slim chance chip will bother club. rub gun oil or silicone lube to protect against water leaking down the shaft. or small dab nail polish clear. Can a damaged golf hosel affect performance?it might affect your shanks, but it should not affect the ball flight at all. Its just not going to be pretty to look at though. what type of golf clubs should a 14year old that is 5'3 ? should he get an adult size ?What type of golf clubs should a 14year old that is 5'3 get ?Might as well since that 14 year old will still be growing like a weed in a second growth spurt. What type of golf clubs should a 14year old that is 5'3 get ?
no, from his height he sounds like he is small, not to offend him, maybe when he gets taller but he could still use either womens or junior clubs for nowWhat type of golf clubs should a 14year old that is 5'3 get ?I would suggest you start with ladies clubs until you grow 2-3 more inches. Standard men's clubs may be too long and harder to swing. What type of golf clubs should a 14year old that is 5'3 get ?
I'm also 14 and i use Adams Golf Hybrid Irons. They work very well for be but i suggest ladies clubs for the start because the shaft is more whippy and a lot easier to swing. I started off with them and they were great. What type of golf clubs should a 14year old that is 5'3 get ?I suggest you could buy some cheap golf clubs, which could save your money and help you practice golf. I know the website http://www.wowgolfclubs.com, golf equipment online store with many famous brand golf clubs, lowest price with free shipping worldwideWhat type of golf clubs should a 14year old that is 5'3 get ?
I think at your height you should use a junior or ladies set until you grow a little. When you get to 5'6 then you should consider getting a mans set. If you get clubs that are to long it will effect your swing which could make you a worse player.

  • How to build a backyard golf green?

A website or step by step procedure on how to build a backyard golf green. Thanks. How to build a backyard golf green?we just put one in our backyard at our house in Kansas City and we are gonna put one in the backyard at our house in Hilton Head. Anyway, we got everything from www.putting-greens.com because my uncle who is on the PGA Tour has 3 in his yard and he got everything from there.

you order everything you need... you can get the kit but, we ended up needing more than what was in the kit so, we aren't going to get the kit when we do it at our other house.

    you need:

    the manual

    easy cup cutter

    practice flag/cup

the bentgrass seed. depending on where you live... you might want to get one in the bucket... if its hot/humid where you live.

there is different kinds of everything... the cutter and the flags. it doesn't matter which one you get.. depends on how much you want to spend etc.

once you get everything.. i would suggest starting on early friday or saturday morning. once everything is done and in place, you will have a putting green!!! make sure you water it in hot weather and that simple stuff. they are easy to maintain and you can put rocks around them to look pretty.. its all about what you want.

e-mail me if you have any other questions about them

good luck!!!!How to build a backyard golf green?
Had a co-worker put in a bent grass green. As soon as he failed to keep it mowed low it went to pot.

If you put in a real grass green, expect to spend time maintaining it. I may be putting one in but it will be fake grass that I can pressure wash! How to build a backyard golf green?I just typed in in on google, and found a lot of results. It makes me really want to get a backyard putting/chipping green.

    I found this site: http://www.actiongreens.com

They had a wide selection of products and step-by-step installation. I would recommend their champion putting green as it looks like it is the best and they said it runs from 10-12 on the stimpmeter which is good for practicing on.

Also while looking around they have fringe material, which would be good for setting up a spot to ship from too. You could get a thick durable plastic tarp and with digging hole and creative landscaping you could add a bunker and mke it a complete backyard shortgame paradise area.

Looking through that really makes me want to get one, but with a dorm i wont exactly have a yard. But after college i'm definetly getting one.How to build a backyard golf green?
Go with artificial turf. The knowledge to maintain a disease free green is best left to the experts. Unless you have a good Greenskeeper you will go nuts trying to keep the green in shape. Also the mowers needed to mow a real green are tempermental and costly. There are plenty of good artificial turfs available, have one installed by a pro.How to build a backyard golf green?www.putting-greens.com

How to select the right golf equipment?

Im not sure what kind of golf equipment I should by. I hear people talking about shafts and degrees but how do I know what is right for me?How to select the right golf equipment? You should get fit tested. Call around to your local golf clubs and find out where you can get fitted. Most stores will fit you for free, but of course they want you to buy from them. There are several reason to get fitted for clubs. It will help your game, especially if you are a beginner. How to select the right golf equipment?
I'm assuming you're fairly new to golf, maybe just starting out? There are 3 approaches:

    1) Talk to the pro your having lessons with (you are having lessons, right?), a qualified pro should be able to point you in the right direction as to what clubs will suit your game. Once you're armed with that basic information, visit a reliable and trustworthy golf store where the staff will be able to find the best clubs for you.

    2) Pick up some golf magazines or read the many excellent articles and reviews on the net from trusted sources like Golf Digest. Most golf mags will rate equipment not only on quality, but also take into account what the target market is for those clubs. The benefit of reading a lot about clubs is that you will learn the theory behind various aspects of club design, the downside is that you may overload yourself with too much information and get confused.

    3) A combination of the above. And this is what I'd recommend. Knowing some theory helps, but you really want to learn this stuff gradually as you continue taking lessons and practicing. How to select the right golf equipment? The best thing you can do (if you are serious about golf) is to get fitted professionally. They should measure swing speed, height, trajectory, grip size, ETC. i just got fitted for clubs two days ago, i would definitely recommend golf galaxy, they have great fitting area and they are extremely helpful. they tested my swing speed which ended up to fast for womens clubs, so i got the new ping g15 irons and the taylormade burner superfast woods and drivers, they will do the rest. :) good luck

Have funHow to select the right golf equipment?
regardless of any other advice the only way is to try them and if you go to a golf shop either do not tell them your handicap or tell them it is 3 or they will treat you like a moronHow to select the right golf equipment?Go to a reputable dealer and get a fitting. For $35 at some places (or free at others) you will be given specifications for your build.

You might want to look at CriticalGolf.com - they have reviews and ratings of most of the major bags, include both the Sun Mountain Superlight 3.5 and the Nike Xtreme Element. I have never played golf before but if i buy a TaylorMade burner driver will i hit the ball far?

Ok so i live across the street from a golf course %26amp; i have always felt like wacking the ball in the driving range.

If i buy a $150 TaylorMade burner driving club will it really make a difference compared to a $20 Dunlop driver?

Or is hitting the ball good more about swing mechanics?I have never played golf before but if i buy a TaylorMade burner driver will i hit the ball far?Buy the $20 driver and use the rest of the $130 on golf lessons. It's not so much the equipment, but the method.I have never played golf before but if i buy a TaylorMade burner driver will i hit the ball far?
The latter. Good equipment is nice, but it's how you use what you've already got that counts.I have never played golf before but if i buy a TaylorMade burner driver will i hit the ball far?its more about your swing and stance
Don't expect to hit a ball any better because of your clubs. As you are beginning just use your Dunnie that you have and when you gain a bit more experience you can then try other different drivers and choose one that suits you the best. If you get a good player they can hit any club regardless of the price but when you become a confident and consistent golfer you can appreciate the nuances with different clubs. So first learn to swing the club the correct way and then get a more expensive driver. I have played with people that have bought their clubs from second hand and Op-shops and all the clubs are a different make and they still played bloody well. It makes me laugh when you see the posers with all their brand name gear and their $2000 clubs and they still can't hit the ball for $hit.I have never played golf before but if i buy a TaylorMade burner driver will i hit the ball far?You need to learn the basics first. I would start out with the $20 Driver. If you like the sport and get used to hitting the ball, then you can graduate up to the more expensive club.I have never played golf before but if i buy a TaylorMade burner driver will i hit the ball far?
Hitting the ball is all about swing mechanics as I found out this past summer.I played for the first time in about 30 years.New equipment same old results.

Just start with the basics and most of all have fun.
Buy the Taylormade, you may not know how on play but better to have good equipment than junkI have never played golf before but if i buy a TaylorMade burner driver will i hit the ball far?
Swing, Swing, Swing. golf is hard to learn, and before you can expect to whack it 250yds you need to be consistent. Learn how to play first, but the Burner and many others now from Adams, Nike and Callaway have a lot of nice clubs that add distance and help your game
its more about the swing mechanics, the grip pressure, stance, posture (setup), shifting your weight, shoulder turn, etc. good equipment does count for (10%) little bit but your mechanics count for the rest (90%). I start out with cheaper set of clubs to see if I really want to play this game, once I got hook on it I slowly improve my equipment as I got better at it. my advise to you is to take a couple of lesson and go for it!!
yes hotter faces will make a ball travel farther even if it is farther in the trees

a driver set with a ladies flex and length shaft and ladies low speed trampoline effect changed my distance off the tee from 190 to 220

they have a big exercise room, a track, a HUGE pool, a volleyball court,a tennis court, and weights, oh yeah a basketball court too. PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING. What can i do to be ready for golf seaon??? i have never played before! What are some things i can do to train for golf at my local recreation center?work on core strength and FLEXIBILITY! Flexibility is much more important. The ability to coil tightly around your center is much needed for lag and power. You can also work on band work where you would use an arm band with weights and focus on the lag part of your downswing, and strengthing your wrists and your ab and back. Your center is much important. I'm only 5'10 155 lbs but because im flexible i can coil and puond the ball i can drive 350+ yds, no lie! So work on your flexibility and core strength. Good luck!

What are good stretching exercises to do for my golf swing to balance out my muscle growth?

I have started working out again after several years. The reason I stopped was because my muscle growth especially in my chest hindered my golf swing. Now that I have stared back, I need suggestions on stretches to counter that growth and keep my swing fluid and less mechanical. I try to stay away from chest exercises but I still need to firm up that area,What are good stretching exercises to do for my golf swing to balance out my muscle growth?reach for your toes. then to the sky. lift you left knee up to your check while you twist to your right. lift your right knee and twist to your left. then just twist. put both hands on the ground and get into a push up position. then bring one leg up to your chest and push back. do this with both legs. then just twist your ankles and wrist. take your right arm put your hand on your left shoulder blade in the back and take your left hand and grab your right elbow do this with both arms. roll your shoulders.curve your back and push your shoulders back. this works for both male and female body types. and should be held for at least 10-15 seconds everyday every 12 hours and this will help stretch out your whole body and should not hinder your swing. another tip is to make sure your upper body isnt stiff or you will end up hurting yourself. dont put to much pressure on your back. and you dont want to use muscle when golfing you want to learn how to use the club head to push off and send the ball flying and you want to hit dirt. get heavier clubs if needed. im a 12 year old girl and i use men clubs that most pro golfers use :)What are good stretching exercises to do for my golf swing to balance out my muscle growth?http://www.golfstretchingexercises.com/

  • How many golf clubs in a standard set?

For an average game of golf, how many clubs are their in a set?

    What are their names?

thanks! How many golf clubs in a standard set?According to the U.S.G.A. and for you to be within the "rules of golf" the maximum number of clubs is 14. More than that is a penalty of two shots per hole or a totoal of four shots per 18 hole round. Always count your clubs before play since there have been rulings where even the pros exceeded the 14 club limit.

As for club configuration that varies with the course being played and shots predetermined during practice rounds. For amateurs I suggest the following configuration based on amateur or what you can an average set. Until a few years ago hybrid clubs were the exception rather than the rule. Easier to play, greater launch angle and the consequence of longer carry cuased this recent phenominon. However, average players do need basic clubs and they are a driver, fairway metal woood #3 and possibly a five or 7 wood. Two hybrids to cover the long irons such as the three and four iron then 5 through the pitching wedge, a sand iron standard iron and putter. If your having troule in what is called the "red zone, 100 yards in") think about a gap wedge about 52 degrees or a lob wedge 60 degrees. The lofts mentioned must coincide with your other clubs as to not have two clubs with the same loft. By the way there is no minimum of clubs you can carry.

Visit a driving range to see is thee is about 6 to 10 yards differential between your clubs. If not I suggest a look at a new configuration of your set. Be mindful of a course you may be playing. If it's super tight then a three wood od the tee may be for you. Watch the pros play, sometimes they leave the driver in the bag for accuract but carry three wedges for the ("red zone or scoring zone"),

Finally try the hundreds of clubs available until your comformtable. Your confidence will result in beter score and more fun. If your allowed 14 clubs then go for 14 clubs and don't short change yourself. If you play an executive or par three couse that's another topic altogether.

Best of luck and try the different clubs. The difference is astounding.

Be mindful the arrow is not the problem, it's the Indian shooting it. That's your mindset when making a set of clubs.

Honest ExpertHow many golf clubs in a standard set?
Standard set has 14 clubs: Driver, 3%26amp;5 woods(fairway woods), irons(3-9), pitching wedge(pw), sand wedge(sw), lob wedge(lw), and a putter. All sets aren't configured this way. For instance, I have in my bag:

    Driver

    3 wood

    2, 3, %26amp; 4 hybrids

    5-9 irons

    pw, gw(gap wedge), %26amp; sw

    putter.

Hybrids replace the 3 %26amp; 4 irons which I have trouble hitting. I can hit a 4 iron, but I'm more consistent with the hybrid. Plus hybrids are made to hit easier than the long irons. I have a lob wedge, but I found myself not using it so it got replaced with another hybrid. Either way, I have 14 clubs in my bag.How many golf clubs in a standard set?here in the states we can carry up to 14 clubs including your putter. there is no rule as to what you can have in your bag, 1 putter seems to be a necessity so a standard would be 3 woods, drive 3 wood 5 wood, 3-9 irons, pitching wedge, sand wedge, lob wedge. many take out the 3 iron and replace it with a hybrid which is just a midgen easier to hit than a 3 iron. How many golf clubs in a standard set?
Hey. For me (I'm just a casual golfing, as in don't take it seriously and don't even score) I have 13 golf clubs in total. I have:

    WOODS - 1, 3, 5

    IRONS - 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

    Pitching Wedge

    Sand Wedge

    Putter

And I find my ball scope always comes in handy for those rivers and creeks that I always seem to get into. How many golf clubs in a standard set?14 clubs is the maximum number you can have within the rules. It's tough to get the right mix of clubs but this is what most people have:

    Driver

3 or 5 wood (sometimes both)

3 iron (some may use a hybrid club)

    4 iron

    5 iron

    6 iron

    7 iron

    8 iron

    9 iron

    Pitching Wedge

    Gap Wegde

    Sand Wedge

    Lob Wedge

    Putter

Hope thats what you were looking for.

How do you feel about being less important than a "green" golf cart.?

He will tell you that having an environmentally friendly comfy golf cart to park his butt on is far more important than creating low-end jobs for workers or cutting taxes for the middle class.

How do i get noticed by college golf coaches?

So i came in 5th in my high school county tournament and i am a freshman. i shot an 82 from the white tees. i putt really well i just dont hit the ball really far. I really believe i can play college golf but i dont know how to get noticed. Any ideas? How do i get noticed by college golf coaches?I played in college about 9 years ago. First keep working on your game, and DONT worry about distance. You shot a 82 without hitting it that far!? Work on wedges and putting as much as you can. If you want to get noticed make sure you play for your high school team, but also enter in junior tournaments. If you want to play for a top notch college and get a scholarship for golf you will have to have won some amateur tournaments and shoot in the high 60s low 70s. I wasn't a great high school golfer, but improved in college. I started shooting in the mid 70s tried out for the team and made it. I played for a division 3 college. If you want to play division 1 work on your game and enter some other amateur tournaments. Playing against other golfers that you don't know is the best way to get used to the pressure. Some people can handle that pressure. Have fun and I wish you the best you are on the right track. How do i get noticed by college golf coaches?
You have 3 years to distinguish your self in high school play, reduce your 82 by at least 11 strokes, enter all the open and local amateur tournaments and make a very good showing and there might be a coach who notices you. What you believe is fine. Just remember that there are 10,000 others who are thinking the same way as you. Enter a couple of Junior tournaments and see how you do. This is your competition. How do i get noticed by college golf coaches?Definitely keep it up...

Document your scores and keep newspaper articles. Write to schools (over email) to the coach, send a video of clips of your swing and introduce yourself, and see if they can come meet with you.

VERY IMPORTANT- That you sign up for as many golf scholarships as you can because it always helps. How do i get noticed by college golf coaches?
82 isn't bad as a freshman. i was barely shooting that as a freshman but with practice by sophmore year I was in the 70's consistently.

Aside from the above - tourneys, talking to your coach, etc... I would put together a profile. I think there are sites online that cater to high schoolers wanting to get a scholarship in sports. If there's not there should be.

Make some videos, post your scores, send out letters.

Promote yourself basically. They'll hear about you.

JoeHow do i get noticed by college golf coaches?Speak to your coach. He can make some recommendations. A serious golfer is usually out playing tournaments. School tournaments are just really practice.

Enter local tournaments in your town that are unrelated to school.

http://www.pga.com/2009/news/pga/07/31/j鈥?/a>How do i get noticed by college golf coaches?
AJGA, IJGT, FCWT, and PGA Junior Series tournaments

and send a cover letter and resume to coaches at schools you'd be interested in playing at
I am also a freshman and i would say that entering tournaments and getting your name in the papers would help. Also reducing your strokes and handicap in the next 3 years would also help

The reality is that if you are high handicapper, use it until the darn thing has some serious damage to it. A cut will affect flight, a lot scuffing will affect a put. Other than that, any surface level stuff won't be noticed. How long should you play with a golf ball?

How long to remove and reinstall 1.6 diesel engine in 92 Golf?

I've got a 92 VW Golf with a bad 1.6 turbodiesel engine. I know where I can get a replacement engine. I am curious as to how long it would take to remove the old engine and reinstall the replacement engine? I believe the transmission has to come out too, correct? How long to remove and reinstall 1.6 diesel engine in 92 Golf?Take it to a garage and let the experts do it. If you don't have access to a ramp you are going to struggle especially if you have not done one before. My uncle died under a car when it fell on him because he did not have the proper equipment. Good luck if you do it yourself. Don't forget to double check you have disconnected everything when you drop the engine. It's no fun trying to disconnect a hose or wire when the engine is pulling on it.How long to remove and reinstall 1.6 diesel engine in 92 Golf?Depends how well you are set up. What kind of tools and equipment you got. I worked on Rabbits(basically same thing-just a different name). If you get a repair manual from the library, it speeds things up considerably. You will note that the engine is dropped down under the car, not out through the top.

It works that much faster. You lift the body off over it.

That is the way they build them, why do it backwards and try to lift it out through the top?

I am not well equipped but managed to drop the motor and trans and pull the body out of the garage in 3 hours by myself alone no major rush with hand tools with 2 scissor jacks and 1 screw jack and a transmission jack.(That was a turbodiesel as well)...Make sure the exhaust manifold bolts are on tight before reinstalling.

It all comes out in one chunk. I had more fight with the exhaust "C" clamps than anything else.

You GOT to have metric sockets and wrenches. DON'T even consider it if you only got vise grips.

Axles got to come off completely from the transmission and from the wheels.

If you are by yourself, give yourself the weekend. Personally, I like a beer break here and there. You can do it in a day.How long to remove and reinstall 1.6 diesel engine in 92 Golf?since you have to ask I'll assume you are a novice. A shop could do it in one day, or should be able to do it in a day. It will probably take you three to four days with the help of a friend. be sure to mark electric connections and differ length bolts with a number of differ colored paint markers.

Is there a golf training aid that can improve keeping a right-hand players left-hand straight?

This is my first year playing golf and I don't want to develop bad habits. I am a 25 handicap and I just learned how to pitch a ball although I can't yet control it's distance. Anyways, I can drive the ball 275 yards 6 times out of 18, so the potential is there at times. However, almost everyone I play w/ tells me that I am bending my left hand too much. Does anyone know of an aid or trick that can help me w/ this? Will lessons be useful or is it all mental? Thanks for your time and assistance! Is there a golf training aid that can improve keeping a right-hand players left-hand straight? If I read your question correctly you want to keep your left hand, not arm straight. For that there are some trainers that can help you. I was recently at Golf Galaxy and saw a glove that does help keep your left hand straight. It will feel odd at first but will help your swing great amounts. Is there a golf training aid that can improve keeping a right-hand players left-hand straight?Dude, it nearly impossible for anyone in this forum to answer that question intelligently without having the benefit of looking at your swing. My suggestion is to go see a golf professional and have your swing videotaped and analyzed. Is there a golf training aid that can improve keeping a right-hand players left-hand straight?yes, lessons definitely help, IF it's from a reliable teaching pro.

here's a drill that maybe can help. while practicing on the range, take one of your headcovers or a towel or something and put it under your left underarm. then swing trying to keep your arm close to your body so the headcover doesn't fall down.Is there a golf training aid that can improve keeping a right-hand players left-hand straight?
Get a golf lesson. It could be that your right arm is going too far or closing (forearm and bicep coming together) and as a result that bends your left arm.
