How do you get a D1 golf scholarship?

I'm a 14 year old who plays golf 5 times a week, about 9 hours each day. I shoot anywhere from 82-77. The problem is, is that I haven't played 1 golf tournament yet and my parents said I can only play in tournaments next year. Will it be to late? And also how would I get noticed or how do you get one. + I live in Canada. How do you get a D1 golf scholarship?Wow, first off those scores are pretty great for your age. You sound dedicated and a scholarship is something you would spend countless hours to accomplish. It isn't too late to start competing next year. This spring/summer focus on improving your game as much as you can. Try and get lessons and tips from your courses golf pro. Next year when you start competing you should be in good shape. Play in lots of tournaments to get experience and if you do well enough, trust me, people will notice you. Don't forget about grades. In order to get a scholarships marks in school are ESSENTIAL. Do well and school, and excel in golf and you'll have a good chance at getting a scholarship. In the next few years you might also want to start contacting schools that you are interested in. Try and contact the coach telling them about yourself and that you want them to come watch you, and you are interested in their program can go a long way. Here is an article that gives you a little idea on how to get a golf scholarship. Good luck with all of this and if you have any more questions send me an email.

Do good in school and stay away from drug/alcohol. Larry Nelson didn't start playing until he was like 23. He is a winner of majors! Good luck
