Do some golf ball types spin more than others off the driver?

I was told by a club fitter that I need to use a golf ball that can help boost my spin numbers off the driver. He suggested the Bridgestone e5+. Is there a way to determine spin characteristics of a ball with out getting on a launch monitor to check this out? Any idea which balls help generate more spin off the driver?Do some golf ball types spin more than others off the driver?Their are golf balls that do create more spin than others. The softer the ball the more spin it will give you. The harder the ball the less spin it will give you.

I have used in the past a heavy and harder ball which will give you no spin effect but will give you a constant roll, like most Pinnacle and Wilson balls.

Now, I use a lighter, softer ball which gives me less roll but outstanding control, more control means ball placement and spin action, like, Titleist ProV1 and my favorite Calloway Tour iX. Sirixon is also another soft ball.

Even though their are alot of balls out their, you need to choose what is best for you.

I advise that a beginner needs to just try to play a ball in the fairway because it can be expensive buying these softer balls and harder to control them at first. Hope that helps...Good Luck!Do some golf ball types spin more than others off the driver?
If you know your swing speed, the degree of loft on your driver, and the flex of your shaft you could get an idea of what the various balls spin numbers may be by checking out this website: http://www.golfdigest.com/equipment/rati鈥?/a> Look at the bottom of the page for READ ARTICLE link.

Look at the various balls on this site to get an idea of the spin. The driver test was done with a driver that had 10.5 degrees of loft and swung at 96 miles an hour. Read the article could give you an idea of what ball would be best for you to play with.

Good luck.Do some golf ball types spin more than others off the driver?Absolutely spin rates vary between balls by as much as 2,000 rpm , it is rare that someone needs more spin off the driver - if your rate is below 1,500 then I would go with the prov1. ( not prov1x ) I am a hi spin player, so I found that the TaylorMade Red gives me the best spin for my game ( not too much backspin with wedges ) Bridgestone makes pretty decent balls, but if the fitting was done by Bridgestone , I would be wary of their results - they tend to skew in favor of their ball to promote sales.Do some golf ball types spin more than others off the driver?
Ok. Well im a golf equipment nerd who thinks the type of ball you use makes a big difference. First off, higher loft of the driver= more spin. (justl like how you get more spin with a pw rather than a 4 iron) But anyways, a few examples of a high spin ball are Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x. ( i play the Pro V1) Another ball with a lot of spin is Callaway's HX Hot Bite. not as much as the Pro V1 but still a good amount. If your having trouble getting the ball in the fairway then go with the hot bite but if not deffinatly invest in the Pro V1 or Pro V1xDo some golf ball types spin more than others off the driver?I disagree with wanting more spin off the driver. IMO you'd want moderate spin off the driver and more spin with short irons and wedges. That is why I love the Nike One Black. You can work the ball either way if you have the ability. I can hit a draw sometimes, but I fade the ball more often. It's long off the tee and bites on the green.Do some golf ball types spin more than others off the driver?

Look at the charts- it's all the information you need to determine how much a ball spins (with half-wedge shots). Typically, the ideal is low-launch, high-spin with wedges, and high-launch, low-spin with the driver.
Absolutley!! The softer the ball, the more spin it will have. Look at the packaging of the golf balls.

I accually LIKE more spin, makes it easier to draw or fade the ball.

I hope this helps!!
