Why are golf courses exempted from pesticide bans?

I understand why agriculture and the spraying of noxious weeds (ie poison ivy) are exempted but why golf courses. Do golf courses need to be weedfree when golf courses don't affect human health and welfare?Why are golf courses exempted from pesticide bans?Becuase people love to play there golf. If you really think about it, its politics, and who ever the politician is, there only trying to keep there votes. Although it has been proven time and again threw many studies that as long as a herbicide is applyed at the proper rate, and ALL intructions are followed properly, a herbicide is perfectly safe. Its when careless use, or when the intructions are not followed properly is when the problems happen.Why are golf courses exempted from pesticide bans?They pay big bucks to be able to contaminate your water tables.
